Total Drama, the Musical is the title for the third season of Total Drama Island and Total Drama Action that Teletoon has commissioned, as announced on the Fresh TV Inc. website. Fifteen contestants will travel around the world to take on outrageous and embarrassing challenges and break into spontaneous musical numbers in each episode, all with the usual backstabbing, alliances, and tender moments. It is confirmed that favorite contestants from previous seasons will return for the third season [1]. It was confirmed by Mark Thornton on June 24, 2009, in an an exclusive interview, new and old characters would compete. In another interview, it was confirmed thirteen campers would return, and two new ones would participate.

It was revealed on the TDI blog that Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton would not be returning as the directors for the third season. Kauffman’s last day on the show was on February 6, but Thornton will remain on as director until the end of Total Drama Action. Jennifer Pertsch and Tom McGillis, two helpers of Total Drama Island and Total Drama Action will be directing this season.

Notes

• There are two new characters in Total Drama, The Musical and they are Alejandro and Sierra.
• The Walk of Shame is now the Drop of Shame, in which the contestants must jump out of the plane they are staying in.
• Owen, Lindsay, Sierra, Alejandro, DJ, Bridgette, LeShawna, Cody, Courtney, Tyler, Gwen, Izzy, Noah, Duncan, Harold, and Heather will all be competing.
